Beginning Monday, May 5, 2025, traffic signals at Crazy Horse Memorial and U.S. Highway 16/S.D. Highway 244 at Oreville Junction will once again be activated for the summer tourist season.
Lane Closures Scheduled on U.S. Highway 18 and S.D. Highway 407 Reconstruction Project in Pine Ridge

Traffic lane closures are scheduled to begin on Monday, April 14, 2025, for the north and south section of Highway 18 and Highway 407 from Cherry Hill Court to Whitetail Deer Road.
Bridge Repairs Scheduled to Begin on Interstate 90 West of Sturgis
April 11, 2025
On Tuesday, April 15, 2025, repair work is scheduled to begin on eastbound and westbound bridge decks and approach slabs on Interstate 90 approximately three miles west of Sturgis.
SDDOT Seeks Public Input for Proposed U.S. Highway 85 Reconstruction Project from Lead to Pluma

The South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT) will hold a public meeting open house on Thursday, April 24, 2025, from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. (MT) to inform area residents of the proposed project to reconstruct U.S. Highway 85 from the Twin City Animal Shelter in Lead to Pluma.
Closure Scheduled for Westbound Wasta Rest Area on Interstate 90

Beginning on Monday, April 14, 2025, the westbound Wasta Rest Area located on Interstate 90 will be temporarily closed for a planned sanitary sewer upgrade project.
