Yankton County Highways Scheduled for Closure for James River Bridge Replacement Project
January 15, 2026
Beginning on Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2026, Yankton County Highway 587 (Stone Church Road) and County Highway 217 (Northwest Jim River Road) will be closed to through traffic for the replacement of the James River Bridge.
S.D. Highway 127 Scheduled to Close for Bridge Replacement Project Near Sisseton

Beginning on Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2026, a bridge and box culvert replacement project is scheduled to begin over the Little Minnesota River on S.D. Highway 127 near Sisseton.

Repair Project Scheduled on U.S. Highway 14A near Cheyenne Crossing in Spearfish Canyon

Beginning on Monday, Jan. 19, 2026, a repair project is scheduled to begin on U.S. Highway 14A approximately one-half mile north of Cheyenne Crossing in Spearfish Canyon.
Temporary Closure Scheduled for Cliff Avenue at Interstate 229 in Sioux Falls

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – On Friday, Jan. 9, 2026, South Cliff Avenue at Interstate 229 will be temporarily closed beginning at 9:30 a.m. as contractors remove a temporary bridge over Cliff Avenue. Weather permitting, the work is expected to be completed in one hour. During the closure, drivers should use exits 3 (Minnesota Avenue) and 5 (East 26th Street) as detour routes.
