SDDOT Seeks Public Input for I-29 Corridor Study (Jefferson to Sioux City)

The South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT), in collaboration with the City of North Sioux City, community of Dakota Dunes, Union County, Iowa DOT, Siouxland Interstate Metropolitan Planning Council, and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), will hold a public meeting open house from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 9, 2025, for the Interstate 29 Corridor Study.

On Thursday, Oct. 2, 2025, repair work is scheduled to begin on the Interstate 90 Business Loop (S.D. Highway 248) from Miller Place to just east of Emmett Avenue in Oacoma.

On Thursday, Sept. 25, 2025, a shoulder milling and paving project is scheduled to begin on northbound U.S. Highway 85 between Belle Fourche and Spearfish.
Interstate 229 Northbound Temporary Lane Closure Scheduled at Cliff Avenue (Exit 4) in Sioux Falls

Beginning at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2025, the northbound lanes of Interstate 229 will be temporarily closed.
Electrical Conduit Repair Scheduled to Begin on I-90 at Exits 10, 14, and 58 (Rapid City Region)
September 15, 2025
On Monday, Sept. 22, 2025, work will begin to repair conduit attached to the Interstate 90 bridges at exit 10 (Belle Fourche/Spearfish), exit 14 (Spearfish), and exit 58 (Rapid City/Haines Avenue).
