Project Updates:

July 24, 2026:

Anticipated Work in July 2026:  Contractor finished all the work within the schedule time.

Completed Work in June 2026:  The contractor has completed installation of new curb and gutter fillet sections and new concrete sidewalk at 4th Street and Broadway Avenue, including type 1 detectable warning plates at all sidewalk openings on 4th Street. They removed and replaced the concrete section and relocated the pedestrian push‑button poles to the back of the curb. New pedestrian push‑button poles were also installed at 15th, 23rd, and 4th Street along Broadway Avenue.

Work at the Discovery Bridge has been completed, including replacement of all floodlights and conduit. The contractor grooved and installed preformed thermoplastic pavement marking (white and yellow) from 2nd Street to 23rd Street on Broadway Avenue. The mainline PCC pavement section on the east side of 23rd Street was removed and replaced at the City’s request.

The contractor also completed seeding, fertilizing, and mulching in required areas per the engineer’s directive and installed all permanent signing in accordance with the plans.

June 23, 2026: 

Anticipated Work in June 2026:  The contractor will install new pedestrian push‑button poles at 15th, 23rd, and 4th Streets along Broadway. They will remove the existing curb and gutter and install new concrete curb and gutter, a fillet section, and new sidewalk at 4th Street. Work will continue on the Discovery Bridge with installation of new floodlights and conduit. The contractor will also remove and replace the damaged concrete sidewalk and push‑button poles in the northwest quadrant at 21st Street following a recent minor crash.

Completed Work in May 2026:  The contractor installed new traffic signal poles, a new traffic controller cabinet, and new conduit and electric cables at 4th Street and 23rd Street. All signal equipment at these intersections was removed and salvaged. The contractor removed the existing concrete fillet sections and sidewalk at 15th Street and installed new curb and gutter, fillet sections, and sidewalk. New concrete sidewalk was also installed at 10th Street.
