Project Timeline:

Project Updates:
May 29, 2025:
May 15, 2025 – June 15, 2025, Completed Work: Grading operations throughout the lengths of the project finished. New turn lanes graded and installed at 223rd, 225th, and 228th St. New culverts installed with many extensions for newly widened road.
Asphalt cold milling of 12.3 miles of existing road started. Millings are hauled to a pit where it is blended with granular material to create a 50/50 base coarse mix of asphalt and gravel. Cold milling removes the top 5” of asphalt from the road, leaving a remainder of 3-4" of asphalt. About 1 mile of roadway is milled each day, for both lanes.
Full depth reclamation began. This process includes breaking and mixing the remaining 3-4" of asphalt with 5” of the existing below-grade. A sheepsfoot and roller follows behind the reclaimer to compact the roadway. A grader also comes by to level the road.
Temporary paint is applied on the cold milled surface and reclaimed surface each day.
Anticipated work in June 15, 2025 – July 15, 2025: Cold milling and full depth reclamation finished. Base coarse hauled from pit to roadway. Final roadway shaping starting and finishing. Asphalt paving will begin.
