Project Updates:
Oct 31, 2025:
Sept. 15, 2025 – Oct. 15, 2025, Completed Work: Roadway grading, culvert installations, and other stabilization activities have been completed from approximately 1.5 miles west of the James River to about 2 miles east toward Frankfort. Slopes, approaches, and cross streets have been finalized in preparation for interim surfacing.
Anticipated Work Oct. 15, 2025 – Nov. 15, 2025: Final grading will be performed on the western portion of U.S. Highway 212. Interim chip seal surfacing will be applied along all areas of U.S. Highway 212, except for approximately 500 feet directly west of the James River where additional subsurface stabilization is required due to soil conditions. It is anticipated that all five miles of U.S. Highway 212—from 1.5 miles west of the James River to 3.5 miles east, beyond Frankfort—will receive interim surfacing and remain that way until paving operations begin in 2026.
