U.S. Highway 14 - From Philip East Eight Miles

Project Summary:

This project will replace three structures, two box culverts, and construct one new bridge.

Approach grading and pipe replacement will also be included on the project.

Traffic is rerouted around the work area using the temporary diversions so crews can conduct structure and grading work. Traffic diversions will remain in place for the majority of the 2024 construction season. The first phase of work is expected to be completed on Friday, Oct. 25, 2024, with work resuming in spring 2025.

Project Timeline:

March 18, 2024 - Nov. 2025

Project Updates:

Sept. 19, 2025:

Aug. 15–Sept. 15, 2025 — Completed work: Concrete was placed for all the interior walls of the box culvert. Forms and steel rebar were set for the top lid, and the concrete for the lid was also placed.

Sept. 15–Oct. 15, 2025 — Anticipated work: Once the concrete for the walls and top lid reaches design strength, the box culvert will be backfilled, gravel surfacing will be placed and the new roadway will be paved. Pending progress, the contractor will begin removing the diversion and re-establishing topsoil, seeding and erosion control.

Until traffic can be restored to U.S. Highway 14, motorists will remain on the diversion route. Drivers should proceed at reduced speeds, as the diversion has a gravel surface.
