Project Updates:
Aug. 6, 2025:
Beginning at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 7, 2025, through 6 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 8, 2025, a temporary traffic shift will be in place on Interstate 90 near Hartford (exit 387)
During the overnight operation, I-90 traffic will be in a two-way traffic configuration on eastbound lanes to allow bridge contractors to complete girder placement over the westbound lanes.
The I-90 westbound on-ramp at exit 387 will also be closed from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Drivers needing westbound access should use exit 390 as an alternate route.
Western Avenue (County Highway 151) will remain open during the overnight operations. Drivers should use caution when traveling through the work zone.

July 29, 2025: Overnight Lane and Ramp Closures Scheduled on Interstate 90 at Hartford (Exit 387)
Beginning at 8 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 4, 2025, through 6 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2025, the eastbound lanes of Interstate 90 at Hartford (exit 387) will be temporarily closed to allow crews to set bridge girders. During the closure, eastbound I-90 traffic will be diverted to the exit 387 on-and off-ramps then back onto I-90.
The westbound on-ramp at exit 387 will also be closed from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Drivers needing westbound access should use exit 390 as an alternate route.
The same traffic diversion and westbound on-ramp closure will occur again from 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2025, through 6 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2025.
Western Avenue (County Highway 151) will remain open during both overnight operations. Traffic will be guided by flaggers through the work zone. Drivers should expect minor delays and use caution when traveling through the area.

July 18, 2025:
June 15, 2025 – July 15, 2025, Completed Work: The dirt contractor has finished building both of the new bridge berms, and has started grading the Exit 387 westbound on-ramp. The bridge contractor has completed the center bent columns and cap, along with pile driving on the south abutment.
Anticipated work July 15, 2025 – Aug. 15, 2025: The bridge contractor is expected to complete pile driving before proceeding with setting the bridge girders and beginning bridge decking work. The paving contractor should have the Exit 387 westbound on-ramp paved. Grading operations should begin on the west half of Western Avenue and the Exit 387 eastbound off-ramp.

April 8, 2025 - Press Release:
On Monday, April 14, 2025, construction work begins on Interstate 90 (exit 387) at Hartford. During the construction project, lane closures will be placed at various times on the eastbound and westbound lanes of I-90. Speed limits will be reduced to 65 mph through the work zone on I-90.
The project also includes work on Western Avenue from south of Jeffrey Street to Diamond Trail in Hartford. A two-way traffic configuration will be placed on Western Avenue.
This project will include reconstructing the standard diamond interchange at exit 387 and replacing the structure over I-90. Western Avenue will be reconstructed as a three-lane roadway with a center left-turn lane, curb and gutter, sidewalk, and a shared use path. Additionally, the City of Hartford will have a project starting that extends the reconstruction of Western Avenue from Diamond Trail to the north of Mickelson Road. Motorists are asked to stay alert for workers, equipment, and slowed traffic through the work zone.
