Project Updates:

May 27, 2025:

Beginning Tuesday, May 27, 2025, the west section of the S.D. Highway 37 and West 23rd Avenue intersection will be closed to through traffic. A detour route will be available using the Highway 37 Bypass for local traffic and will remain in effect for four weeks.

Motorists should be prepared for delays and a 12-foot width restriction through this area. Drivers are asked to be aware of constriction workers, equipment, and to slow down through the work zone. Motorists should expect congestion, slower speeds, and turning traffic during the closure. This work is part of a larger project that will reconstruct Highway 37 in Mitchell from Main Street to National Guard Road.
