Road Closures Scheduled for East 41st Street and Cliff Avenue in Sioux Falls

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – On Monday, April 14, 2025, a road closure is scheduled for East 41st Street from east of South Carter Place to South Cliff Avenue. Weather permitting, East 41st Street is scheduled to reopen in August 2025. During the closure, drivers should use Minnesota Avenue and 33rd Street as the detour route. The closure will include the installation of underground utilities. The street is being reconstructed to align with the Lincoln High School entrance as part of the Interstate 229 and exit 4 interchange project.
On Monday, April 14, 2025, and Tuesday, April 15, 2025, South Cliff Avenue will be closed nightly from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. During the planned closures, crews will be removing the southbound I-229 bridge. This overnight work is anticipated to be complete by 6 a.m. on Wednesday, April 16, 2025. Drivers should plan to use exit 3 and exit 5 as detour routes. Motorists are reminded to use caution and reduce their speed while workers and equipment are present.
