Bridge Improvement Grant (BIG) Recipients Announced by Transportation Commission (2)

The South Dakota Transportation Commission awarded 17 preservation, rehabilitation, and replacement Bridge Improvement Grants (BIG) totaling approximately $16.6 million at the recent commission meeting held in Pierre.
Public Meeting Open Houses Scheduled for Tabor to Platte Rail to Trail Feasibility Study

From Tuesday, March 4 through Thursday, March 6, 2025, the South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT) will hold eight public meeting open houses to share information and garner public input for the Tabor to Platte Rail to Trail Feasibility Study.
U.S. Highway 16A in Custer State Park to be Temporarily Closed
February 21, 2025
On Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2025, at 9 a.m. (MT), U.S. Highway 16A, in Custer State Park, from Wilson’s Corner (junction of Highway 16A and S.D. Highway 87) to the State Game Lodge will be temporarily closed due to the relocation and transport of a church building.
Bridge Closures Scheduled for Interstate 29 at Exits 9 & 15 (Near Jefferson and Elk Point)

Beginning on Monday, Feb. 24, 2025, a repair project is planned for two bridges over Interstate 29 at exits 9 and 15 near Jefferson and Elk Point.

Under the authority of SDCL 32-22-24, Highway Maintaining Authorities may restrict loads anytime between February 15 to April 30 to protect their highways from break-up during the spring thaw.
