May 2024 - The interim project completion date for 5th Street to Market Street is Nov. 2024, with an overall project completion date of Oct. 2025.

Aug. 15 – Sept. 15, 2025, Completed Work:
Dakota Avenue South from 7th to 9th streets was completed and opened to traffic in early August. All major utility and infrastructure work within the right of way has been completed below Dakota Avenue. Mainline paving was installed on Dakota Avenue north of Market Street in the northbound lane, with curb and gutter forming and placement to follow.
Anticipated Work Sept. 15 – Oct. 15, 2025:
Curb, gutter, tie-in mainline paving, and transitions will be prepared and placed north of Market Street toward the intersection of Dakota Avenue and U.S. Highway 14. Traffic will remain in the current detour configuration until all PCC pavement in the northbound lane of Dakota Avenue is complete and has reached the required strength for active traffic.

Sept. 11, 2025:
Today, 9/11/25, northbound traffic will be detoured from Market St. to U.S. Highway 14 in Huron. Traffic will be guided with flaggers and signage. Southbound traffic will continue on Dakota Ave. Traffic to be restored in late afternoon.
