S.D. Highway 28 to S.D. Highway 15 East of Estelline
Project Summary:
The project will replace and upgrade all drainage structures to improve overall drainage performance. The roadway will be fully regraded, cutting hills and filling valleys to enhance sight distance for drivers. In addition, the project will widen the shoulders along this segment to improve safety and accommodate future maintenance needs. The project will also include resurfacing the roadway.

April 17, 2026:
April 2026 Completed Work:
The contractor continued work on punch list items for the grading project and positive drainage. Crews also placed temporary pavement east of Interstate 29.
Anticipated Work – May 2026:
The contractor anticipates completing all remaining work on the grading project, with only punch list items remaining.
The paving project is expected to begin after Memorial Day and is scheduled for completion in early July.
