Project Summary:

The project includes placing a (LSDC)-Low Slump Dense Concrete overlay on the bridge deck to strengthen and protect the surface while improving ride quality.

Crews will also replace the approach slabs and resurface the approach pavement to provide a smoother transition on and off the bridge.

Project Updates:

April 17, 2026: 

Beginning Monday, April 6, 2026, a single‑lane closure was in place in both the southbound and northbound lanes on the twin bridges at Mile Marker 187.6. Crews completed demolition and replacement of guardrail, shoulders, drainage, sleeper slabs, and approach slabs on one side of each bridge.

Anticipated Work - May 2026:

In May, a single‑lane closure in both directions will continue at the twin bridges at Mile Marker 187.6 as crews set barriers and demolish guardrail, shoulders, drainage, sleeper slabs, and approach slabs on one side of each structure.

March 26, 2026:

On Monday, April 13, 2026, a bridge maintenance project is scheduled to begin on U.S. Highway 281 between Aberdeen and Warner. The bridge repair work will include four structures in the northbound and southbound lanes of Highway 281 over Moccasin Creek.

Bridge maintenance operations will reduce traffic to one lane. Speed limits through the work zone will be reduced to 45 mph. Motorists should expect delays.
