Project Summary:
Low slump bridge deck overlays, PCC paving and new guardrail at six structures around Winner.
18 ft width restriction on U.S. Highway 18 from S.D. Highway 44 Jct in Winner to Colome
11 ft width restriction on S.D. 49 at Hamill
Project Updates:
March 10, 2026:
Work is expected to resume on April 6, 2026, at the bridges on U.S. Highway 18 between Winner and Colome. Traffic will be reduced to one lane across the bridges and will be controlled by stop sign.

Nov. 24, 2025:
Oct. 15, 2025 – Nov. 15, 2025 Completed Work: New concrete pavement was completed on the east end of the Dog Ear Creek bridge. The contractor installed new curb and gutter and sidewalk leading up to the bridge. New guardrail was placed on the northeast corner of the bridge, and new pavement markings were applied at the Dog Ear Creek bridge location. All cleanup work has been completed at the three bridge sites finished this season. All traffic control devices have been removed for the winter.
Anticipated Work Nov. 15, 2025 – Dec. 15, 2025: Work is expected to resume in early April 2026 on the bridges southeast of Winner on U.S. Highway 18.
