A large part of SDDOT work involves identifying projects and then creating, modifying or reviewing road and bridge plans. Our engineers, engineering technicians and other professionals work with local governments, other state government agencies, federal agencies, tribal governments, contractors, consultant engineers, non-profit groups, landowners, and our members of Congress to plan a safe, efficient and cost-effective transportation system.
