Structure Work Scheduled on S.D. Highway 37 Near Huron

HURON, S.D. - On Monday, May 5, 2025, work is scheduled to begin on the S.D. Highway 37 northbound and southbound structures over Cain Creek, located five miles south of Huron. Bridge repair work will consist of approach slab replacement, concrete overlay, and guardrail updates in the northbound and southbound lanes on Highway 37. Lane closures will be utilized for traffic control to complete the repair work.
At the conclusion of the repair work on these bridges, work will then begin on two additional structures in July 2025. One structure is located one mile south of Huron over Stony Run. The other structure is located one and one-half miles north of Wolsey on U.S. Highway 14. The traffic on the Highway 14 bridge will be controlled by signals.
The contractor for the $3 million project is BX Civil & Construction, Inc. of Dell Rapids, SD. The overall project completion date is October 2025.
