Intersection of Capitol Avenue and Euclid Avenue Closing for Asphalt Surfacing in Pierre

PIERRE, S.D. - On Thursday, July 24, 2025, crews will begin final asphalt surfacing on Euclid Avenue between Pleasant Drive through Capitol Avenue in Pierre. The intersection of Capitol Avenue and Euclid Avenue will be closed to traffic for the asphalt surfacing operations.
During this phase of construction, traffic can utilize Prospect Avenue or Pleasant Drive. Motorists should be aware that Prospect Avenue will be open to traffic on gravel surfacing and controlled by stop signs.
It is expected that the asphalt surfacing will take approximately one week and Capitol Avenue will reopen to traffic on or before Friday, Aug. 1, 2025.
