YANKTON, S.D. – On Monday, April 7, 2025, concrete spot repair work will begin on several highways located in Clay and Union Counties. Work is planned for the following locations in the given order.

Concrete spot repairs will begin on Interstate 29 near North Sioux City, approximately five miles from the Big Sioux River bridge to just north of exit 4. Spot repairs will be completed in the northbound and southbound lanes, on- and off-ramps, and the overhead crossroad at exit 1 (Dakota Dunes). The approximate time to complete the spot repairs is 20 days. Lane closures will be used to guide traffic through the construction areas. Motorists should be aware that I-29 speed limits will be reduced to 45 mph when workers are present and returned to 65 mph when workers are not present in this work zone.

S.D. Highway 50 (Cherry Street) in Vermillion will have spot repairs beginning approximately two miles from the intersection of S.D. Highway 19 north to just east of the intersection of Crawford Road. The approximate time to complete the spot repairs is 10 days. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction and guided through the project with the use of flaggers and lane closures.

S.D. Highway 50B (Cherry Street) in Vermillion will have concrete spot repairs beginning approximately two miles from the intersection of Cherry Street and Sandford Street to just west of the Vermillion River bridge. The approximate time to complete the spot repairs is 15 days. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction and guided through the project with the use of flaggers and lane closures.
