Bridge Repairs Scheduled on S.D. Highway 34 in Haakon and Ziebach County

PIERRE, S.D. – On Monday, May 5, 2025, concrete repair work is scheduled to begin on the Cheyenne River Bridge located on S.D. Highway 34 in Haakon and Ziebach County. Work on the project will consist of removing concrete in need of repair and replacing it with concrete patching material. 

During the project, an alternating stopped condition will be experienced by commuters through the work zone with a 15-foot width restriction on the bridge. Additional signing will also be in place to alert the traveling public of the need to stop at the bridge ends. Motorists can expect minor delays during these times.

The contractor on this $125,260 project is Anderson Contractors, Inc. of Pierre, SD. The overall project completion date is June 2025.
