Bridge Improvement Project Scheduled to Begin on U.S. Highway 14/U.S. Highway 281 Near Wolsey

WOLSEY, S.D. – On Monday, June 23, 2025, a bridge improvement project is scheduled to begin on U.S. Highway 14 and U.S. Highway 281 approximately two miles north of Wolsey over Cain Creek. This project includes concrete bridge deck overlay, berm repair, work on approach slabs, guardrails, and pavement.  

During the bridge improvement project, traffic will be controlled with temporary signals. Motorists are advised that a 16-ft. width restriction will be in place during construction.

The prime contractor for this $3 million project is BX Civil & Construction, Inc. of Dell Rapids, SD. The overall project completion date is April 2027.
