Public Engagement Provides Connectivity Documentation for Interstate 90 Local Roads Crossing Study

In March 2024, the South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT), in collaboration with Pennington County and the Federal Highway Administration, held two public meeting open houses to learn from area residents about how several interstate crossings and interchanges were being used along a section of Interstate 90 in eastern Pennington County.
Traffic Change Scheduled for the Missouri River Bridge Between Fort Pierre and Pierre

Weather dependent, on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, both lanes of the westbound bridge over the Missouri River between Fort Pierre and Pierre will be closed.
Bridge Repair Work Scheduled to Begin on S.D. Highway 27 Near Britton
April 15, 2024
On Friday, April 19, 2024, bridge repair work is scheduled to begin on S.D. Highway 27 approximately two miles south of Britton. The contractor will set signs and concrete barriers first. Bridge work will begin on Monday, April 22, 2024.
Reconstruction Project Scheduled to Begin on U.S. Highway 12 in Edmunds County
April 15, 2024
On Monday, April 22, 2024, asphalt concrete paving work is scheduled to begin on U.S. Highway 12 from Bowdle to Roscoe. The contractor will set signs and cold mill asphalt concrete. Paving will begin Monday, April 22, 2024.
South Dakota Transportation Hall of Honor Committee Accepting 2024 Nominations

The Transportation Hall of Honor Committee is accepting nominations for review and consideration for induction into the South Dakota Transportation Hall of Honor. The purpose of the Transportation Hall of Honor is to recognize individuals who have made a lasting, valuable, and/or unique contribution to South Dakota’s air, highway, public transit, or rail transportation system.
