South Dakota officials send out reminders about winter weather driving - Dakota News Now
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - It’s time to refresh on winter driving tips before the cold temps and snow get here. South Dakota officials are reminding people where to find resources, what’s different out on the roads this year, and how to stay safe.
This year’s La Niña is expected to bring colder and slightly wetter conditions to South Dakota, along with much of the Midwest.
Kelly Serr with the National Weather Service in Aberdeen said even though things have been warmer and drier recently, don’t count out this winter being more active than it has been in the past couple of years.
“Now, of course, it’s winter in South Dakota. We have hazards that we should expect. There’s going to be winter storms. There’s going to be snow,” Serr said.
