SDDOT faces off against NDDOT in ‘Battle of the Blades’ plow name competition - Dakota News Now

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - What is the best snow plow name in the Dakotas? The public now has the chance to answer that question by voting in the Battle of the Blades competition.

During the online competition, the South Dakota Department of Transportation will pit its snow plows against the North Dakota Department of Transportation’s plows to see who has the best name.

The first three rounds of the bracket-style competition will narrow down the two best plow names from each state with regional faceoffs.

Then, those snow plows will go head-to-head in the Frosty Four. The winner will then be selected by the public.

Voting for the first round opened Thursday and will close Friday, March 21. Each round of voting is only open for one to two days.

The Championship vote is scheduled for April 7.

So, who will it be? Will Hans Snowlo from Aberdeen take the crown? Or Blades of Glory from Pierre? It could be Clear-a-patha from Mitchell or even Snow-key the Bear from Rapid City. Vote here to decide.
