The City of Bryant has been awarded a $600,000 Community Access Grant by the South Dakota Transportation Commission to fund critical infrastructure improvements along Railway Street.

The grant will support road upgrades serving both the Farmers Union Co-op and Bryant’s downtown business district.

The award is part of a broader state initiative announced by the South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT), which distributed approximately $2.36 million in economic development grants to rural communities across South Dakota. The program covers up to 80 percent of construction costs for projects designed to strengthen local economies and improve access to key community areas, including business sectors, schools, and agricultural hubs.

“By supporting local infrastructure improvements, we’re helping communities strengthen their economies, create opportunities, and build a foundation for continued growth today and into the future,” said Transportation Secretary Joel Jundt.

Additional Community Access Grants were awarded to the cities of Hoven ($556,200), Leola ($600,000), and Parker ($600,000).
