KOTA TV: SDDOT seeks public input on state’s tentative four-year transportation plan
South Dakotans will have a chance next month to weigh in on future transportation projects as the South Dakota Department of Transportation begins public engagement on its proposed 2027-2030 Statewide Transportation Improvement Program.
The four-year plan outlines highway and transportation projects being considered across the state and helps guide future infrastructure investments.
To make participation easier, SDDOT is offering virtual meetings, in-person viewing locations and an online interactive meeting room where residents can review project information, explore maps and submit comments.
Two virtual presentations are scheduled for July 14 at 1 p.m. MT and July 16 at 6 p.m. MT. Residents can also attend from SDDOT offices in Aberdeen, Pierre, Rapid City and Sioux Falls. The Rapid City viewing location will be the SDDOT Rapid City Region Office on Eglin Street.
In addition to the live meetings, residents can review projects and provide feedback through SDDOT’s online public engagement portal.
Transportation officials said public input plays an important role in identifying future transportation needs and shaping projects across South Dakota.
