DOT seeks public opinion on SD state transportation plan

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now)

The SDDOT is looking for input from South Dakota residents to develop the Statewide Active Transportation Plan.

This plan is focused on improving forms of public transportation, such as walking and biking.

To gain public opinion, public meetings will be held on the following dates, times, and locations:

  • Aberdeen: Tuesday, Oct. 14, 5:30-7 p.m. - Best Western Ramkota, 1400 8th Ave. NW
  • Mitchell: Wednesday, Oct. 15, 5:30-7 p.m. - SDDOT Mitchell Region Office, 1300 S. Ohlman St.
  • Sioux Falls: Thursday, Oct. 16, 5:30-7 p.m. - Siouxland Libraries Downtown Library, 200 N. Dakota Ave
  • Rapid City: Tuesday, Nov. 4, 5:30-7 p.m. - SDDOT Rapid City Region Office, 2300 Eglin St.
  • Pierre: Wednesday, Nov. 5, 5:30-7 p.m. - SDDOT Pierre Central Office, 700 E. Broadway Ave.

Written comments will be accepted online or through public meetings until Friday, Nov. 14, 2025.
