April 12, 2024:

A concrete repair project on two sections of U.S. Highway 18 is scheduled to begin on Monday, April 15, 2024. Work will be conducted on Highway 18 between Burke and Colome, as well as on an eight-mile segment west of Martin. Work on the project consists of concrete repair, surfacing grinding, joint sealing, and new asphalt shoulders.

Concrete repair will occur in the first phase of the project from Burke through Gregory. Upon the completion of phase one, work will extend from Gregory to Colome, with phase three completing the eight-mile section west of Martin. Concrete repair work is anticipated to be completed in mid-June.

After concrete repair has been completed, surface grinding, joint sealing, and placement of asphalt shoulders will follow on all sections of the project.

During concrete repair work, motorists will be guided onto the gravel shoulders for one-mile segments around the work zones. A width restriction will be in place for trucks wider than 10-feet and local truck traffic will only be allowed.
