Nov. 15, 2023:
A temporary asphalt surface has been placed over the newly constructed roadway from De Smet to the south junction of Highway 28. The south junction of Highway 28 to the north junction of Highway 28 will remain gravel surfacing through the winter months. Motorists are encouraged to reduce speed while traveling over this three -mile section. Bump, pavement ends, loose gravel and no pavement marking signs have been placed at the ends of the temporary asphalt to alert motorists of the differing conditions.
This multi-year project includes a 16-mile full reconstruction of S.D. Highway 25 in Clark and Kingsbury counties. New asphalt concrete surfacing is scheduled to be placed during the 2024 construction season. The overall completion date for the project is June 14, 2024.
