HILL CITY, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Transportation says a project to make repairs to Main Street in Hill City will resume today, Monday, March 30.

The project, which includes grading, curb & gutter, concrete surfacing, sidewalk and a concrete retaining wall with handrail from Elm Street to McGregor Street, was started in September 2019. Three of the five phases are complete.

Phase 4 will take place in front of the Jon Crane Gallery and take about two weeks to complete, along with additional time for curing of the concrete.

Lanes will be reduced to 12-foot with both lanes remaining open and reduced parking in active work areas. Sidewalks will be removed, however access to all business will be available.

The prime contractor on this $666,000 project is Complete Concrete, Inc. of Rapid City.
