Highway 12 Bridge Work Near McLaughlin

MCLAUGHLIN, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Transportation says work on the Highway 12 bridge located about five miles east of Mclaughlin will begin Monday, April 27, 2020. 

Traffic at the bridge site on Highway 12 will be reduced to one lane with a 14-foot width restriction and controlled by stop signs. Work on this portion of the project is expected to be complete by May 30, 2020, depending on weather. 

Motorists can expect a short delay with the stop signs and are asked to slow down and be aware of suddenly slowing and stopped traffic, as well as construction workers and equipment adjacent to the driving lane. 

The prime contractor on this $5.7 million project is Bituminous Paving, Inc. of Ortonville, Minnesota that has an overall completion date of Nov. 13, 2020.
