CULVERT WORK IN HARDING, BUTTE, MEADE & PERKINS COUNTIES

BELLE FOURCHE, S.D. – Starting next week, Feb. 24, crews will begin installing and repairing culverts in Harding, Butte, Meade, and Perkins counties.
The first project is to install a new culvert under Highway 212 at mile marker 46, east of Newell.
In March, crews will begin repairing culverts at the following locations:
- Highway 212 at mile markers 51 and 55, east of Newell
- Highway 79 at mile markers 139 and 143, north of Newell
- Highway 85 at mile markers 112 and 116, south of Buffalo
The culvert installation and repairs will have minimal impact on traffic, but drivers should be aware of construction workers and equipment adjacent to the driving lane and slow down through the work zone.
Additional culvert repairs and replacements will be completed throughout the year on this project and updated information will be provided accordingly.
The prime contractor on this $1.48 million-dollar project is Mainline Contracting, Inc. from Rapid City.
The overall completion date for the project is Oct. 30, 2020.
